Less Litter L6 is 23.75 inches in diameter and 19.75 inches in height, made of solid brushed Certified 316 Austenitic Stainless Steel, also known as Medical-Grade and Marine-Grade Stainless Steel, the same material used for making boat parts, medical instruments, and Swiss watches. It accommodates extremely large breeds such as Maine Coon, Savannah F1, and extremely high-peeing cats. Both exterior and interior are finely brushed not polished, to prevent screeching noise

Considerations before buying

  • A Lifetime commitment to maintain our litter boxes and silicone parts clean and dry

  • Each Less Litter Box is hand and machine-made. This means, allow ~0.5 inch deviation of the diameter and light welding line
  • Steel is significantly heavier than plastic

What is 316 Austenitic Stainless Steel?

316 Austenitic Stainless Steel is also known as Surgical or Marine-Grade Stainless Steel. This is the perfomance-grade material used in surgical instruments, marine applications, automotive parts, and Swiss watches

What is not

  • 304 or 8/8 Stainless Steel
  • 201 Stainless Steel
  • "Commercial-kitchen" grade steel
  • Aluminum
  • Galvanized metal

Fits

L-4 "Standard" adult-sized cats
L-5 Long and tall, Ragdoll, high-urinating cats
L-5-S "Standard" to long-is cats
L-6-S Long cats, multi-cat household
L-6-M Long and tall cats, multi-cat household
L-6 Extremely Long and tall, Maine Coon, high-urinating cats, excessively large for "standard" adult size cats

I was so sick and tired of buying and throwing away plastic litter boxes all of the time. I have multiple cats and therefore multiple litter boxes. It’s just such a waste! And then to think of all the millions of cats owners in the world that have to throw away a litter box at some point, that’s absolutely mind blowing. There must be a massive pile of plastic litter boxes somewhere that can be seen from space! I don’t want to throw litter boxes away anymore and I don’t want to contribute to this problem anymore. I needed a solution. When I saw the Less Litter box I mulled over it for awhile because of the price, but I realized that after 30 years of owning cats I have undoubtedly spent thousands on litter boxes and accessories, including automatic boxes and I will continue to spend a lot of money on litter boxes if I keep using plastic. I looked on Amazon for stainless steel boxes and was not impressed. Many of their boxes were coated with some mystery chemical to help prevent corrosion, but most were too small and too shallow for my high aiming cat, and the ones that came with a detachable guard had a lot of bad reviews for leaking, plus that’s more plastic. I’m trying to get away from plastic in many aspects of my life. Then I found Less Litter and read up on their boxes and knew it would be a perfect solution. I got the XXXL and have had it a couple months now and I absolutely love it. It is impeccably made. There has been a lot of thought and care put into the design and execution of this box. I chose the XXXL to accommodate my larger cat with his big ole’tail and for my other cat that “aims high”. The box arrived very well packaged and in perfect condition, and all the packaging can be recycled or composted and the cats liked playing in the shipping box as well. I love the round shape, it fits nicely in a corner and looks great. I love that it is one piece and will not leak. My cats took to it right away and have no trouble getting in and out of it. There are absolutely no sharp edges and it doesn’t smell. I’ve had no issues with clumps sticking, although that might depend on the litter used. I use Smart Cat grass litter since it has no dust. Also, my litter used to get very staticky when scooping in a plastic litter box and it would fly all over the place and I’ve not had this problem at all since I switched to the stainless steel Less Litter box. Cats scratch when using a plastic box and probably ingest microplastics. The Less Litter box will be much more sanitary and healthier for my cats. I love that I only need to use soap and water to clean it and I can use steam to sanitize it if I want to. No harsh chemicals! It’s definitely heavy, but that keeps it from scooting around when I scoop. I place it on a small flat furniture dolly (or a plant caddy) and roll it outside for cleaning. It is very easy to clean. This box was worth the price and it will save me money in the long run because I’ll never have to throw it away. I’m definitely going to get a couple more to replace my other plastic litter boxes. I know it’s a fair amount to spend, but it’s well worth the investment. If you own cats and plan to always own cats(as I do), then you need this litter box! Thank you Less Litter!

I've had my L-6 litter box for a few years now and I absolutely love it!!! Well worth the money. I have a multiple cat household and one in particular likes to spray in the litter box. This is the ONLY litter box that has contained his urine. I also have several litter robots and the cats all prefer this box over the others. 10/10 recommend!

I wish I would have found these litter boxes sooner. We have 6 cats. And we were using 7 extra large high plastic litter boxes. Received our first stainless steel litter box and there is no going back. The cats all love it as do I. It is like a big sandbox to them. Excellent idea to have a round litter box - there is so much room for them to turn around. We needed very tall ones as we have 3 high peeing boys. The stainless steel is SO much easier to keep clean. Great entry way and the handles really help as it is heavy. So many great ideas went into making this a perfect litter box. We ordered 2 in our first shipment and right away I placed an order for 3 more. Plan on replacing all the plastic litter boxes. I think the quality of these are well worth the money. Packaging was the best I have seen. And excellent customer service.

Words cannot describe how excited I was to discover this litter box. I have been searching my entire adult life for a metal litter box that would accommodate my silly kitty. Pictured here 😸 He is taller than average and does not squat when he pees. So finding a box big enough has been a struggle. Then one magical day I do my usual Google search for "XL metal litter box" and could not believe my eyes! It's purrfect, just as described, the highest quality stainless steel.
I ordered three of them, one arrived two months before the others and has stood the test of time. To this day there is a noticable difference in the amount of odor that emanates from the box. Compared to my old plastic ones there is no lingering smell. When I scoop the litter, the smell goes away, life-changing.
I have four cats and they all prefer this one. During that two month time, they all chose to use this one. Even though it had more pees and poops than the plastic ones, which were spotless. They are considerably heavy, but the handles make them easy enough to carry around. Also expensive, but sooooo worth it as I suspect they'll last longer than I will. 10/10 highly recommend!

ANSWER TO MY PRAYER, SOLUTION I’VE BEEN SEARCHING SINCE 1977! Lucky me, I have 3 high-peeing cats and they shoot up to 20 inches. After having pee pads on the wall for 7 years now the wall started to rot from the urine. Less Litter box L6 is heavy but solved my problem and saved my HOUSE from rotting. Thank you!!
