I bought one of the L5s for my two kitties to test out. One cat is 11 pounds and the other is 17. He's just a big cat. I had the Litter Robot 3 for a few years and found that the globe was too small for him (and it got really smelly and was difficult to clean). He would put his head in the poop chute when using it because putting his head out the front felt more precarious. It was... really gross. I missed the cleanliness of disinfecting a regular litter box too. So to find something that fit both cats, was going to stand the test of time, and be easier to clean, this fit the bill. I'm also a designer so the aesthetics aren't too shabby either lol.
I really like our Less Litter box, and find it keeps litter fresher longer. The kids LOVE it. I felt so bad that I made them use the Litter Robot as long as I did; they preferred this one pretty quickly once they figured it out. The biggest drawback that made me almost drop a star is the weight of the box and difficulty scooping. My small cat refuses to use anything but clay clumping litter, and clay pee clumps can REALLY stick to the sides. It gets worst the older the clay litter is, however I find the hassle of cleaning this litter box due to its weight means I procrastinate on the deep cleans I was excited to be able to do. It takes two people to do this task (if you use clay litter at least). One person to hold a trash bag open and the other to lift the box and slowly pour the litter contents. I don't think it's fair to drop it a star for the weight; that's why it lasts forever, it's a solid marvel of fancy stainless steel.
I also liked our Less Litter box enough that as soon as someone posted an L4 on Facebook Marketplace, I snatched it up to upgrade our second plastic storage bin litter box. I was worried the L4 might be too small for my Long + Tall man, but he likes it as much as the L5 and seems just as comfortable using it. The L4 also feels way lighter, so If you're considering the smaller size or the larger size, I recommend going as small as you can due to easier clean up. Because the shape is so much more ergonomic for them, I don't feel size is as important as long at they can circle around in it comfortably. When you're working with rectangles, size matters a lot more bc the shape is weird for them so you're making up for that.
Anyway, thanks for coming to my TED talk.
Neither my 2 lb kitten or 10 lb cat have issue using it. The little one climbs in and the big one has plenty of room. It is rather heavy though, which can be a problem when cleaning it if you have mobility issues so please be aware. Other than that I love how it's stylish, well-constructed, and doesn't hold onto odors like the plastic ones.
Always have cats in my life and tried so many litter boxes. Last I was using was for pallets and still plastic boxes always have the same problem and replacing them with new ones and in the long run more spending. I researched before I bought this litter box. Read the reviews and finally decided to purchase the standard size L4. It is pricey but the best investment for my Cats. The cat litter doesn’t stick and I just push the litter to the side and wipe it off with wet kitchen paper towels and dry it off to dump new litter in. Easy to clean! Tbh this litter box prevents smells. When my cats uses it, looks like I’m cooking a cat 😂😬 because of the shape super cute!!! Looks good in my tiny apartment. I recommend to purchase the Mat. Highly recommend this Box. You won’t disappoint.
I absolutely love these litter boxes. Solid quality and elegantly designed. My cats acclimated to them right away.
No more Amazon junk metal food trays. They all rusted in a year. Got the L6M, L5 and L4. Best decision ever. Superior quality and design.
